Everybody Loves a Parade!
The Acton Community Club is once again excited to be sponsoring the 4th of July Parade! There was a flyover, a rousing shoot-out by the notorious Acton Rangers, plenty of equestrian entries and always the vintage and custom cars. Join us as we come together to honor our nation's independence and strengthen our community spirit!
Congratulations to Grand Marshal ~ Acton Town Council!

“Unity in Community” Another successful 4th of July Parade!
The Acton Community Center is the official sponsor of the annual 4th of July Parade and making the parade a reality involves much planning for several months prior to the 4th. The committee that makes all this happen is: Tammie Necessary, Lee Jennings, Cindi Miller, Wendy Lovgren, Eva Eveland, Dee Reyes, Shayne Bilinski, Sandy Madsen, Kathleen Larsen, Deputy Orlando Martinez and Calvin Oglesby.

Additionally, there are so many more involved in the actual setup of the parade. We recognize and thank:
• Keller Williams Realty, The Print Shop, The Pizza Place, Perkin’ Up, Ace Hardware and Agua Dulce Hardware for allowing us to use their store fronts for application drop off and pick up locations.
• Acton School for allowing us to safely store our barricades before and after the parade, and supplying power for our announcers’ booth
• Our announcers Beverly Whitely and David Weary
• The Pannikos family, owners of the building & business where Beverly Whitely announces
• The Civil Air Patrol - Color Guard from Squadron 49 in Palmdale
• Shawn Caldwell for securing the Aero Squadron Van Nuys for the flyover
• A+ Superior Sanitation for providing porta potties
• Theresa James for the use of her golf cart before the parade
• To our (6) Volunteer Banner Carriers
• The category judges, Diane Branagan, Pat Wickenheiser and Char Bessette, and The Right Connection Services for donating the side-by-side for transportation
• The Eveland Family, for donating trophies
• McDonald’s – for giving out coffee, snacks, games and collectibles at the sign-in area
Physical set up and take down for the parade was no small task.
• Layout - Mike Ralphs
• Setting out barricades - Mike Ralphs, John Eastburn, Gary Bright
• Line up and picking up numbers and cones - Chris Houwen, Mike McNeil
• Pick up barricades - John Eastburn, Dave Dooros, Hank Kilislojak
• And we can’t forget Doc Ellis for cleaning up the animal waste after the parade!
It’s gratifying to witness the enjoyment and enthusiasm of the people lining the street and cheering along the 60 entries in this year’s event!
