Construction
From the Acton News
"On November 24, 1983 the lumber truck arrived with all the lumber for our long-awaited youth center. The trusses will be delivered approximately December 5. It is the most exciting day Acton has seen in a long, long time. We have all worked, donated and waited for this day. However, the work and donating is not over.
If you own a hammer or saw and have any time you can give us on a Saturday or Sunday, please come to the Community Center Building and be a part of a great project for our kids. We are still in dire need of more donated dollars. If it’s $1.00 or $100.00, please send to the Acton Youth Center Bldg. Fund – P.O. Box 111, Acton California. Thank You."

Money was raised and much labor and materials donated for this effort.
Once groundbreaking took place, all hands were on deck, much like an old fashioned barn-raising. Accurate records as to the timeframe are sketchy, but it is believed that the building was completed in somewhat record time.
