In 1950, the Palmdale Rotary Club, the original sponsor of the Acton Boy Scouts of America, Troop 145, purchased this 2 ½ acre parcel of land, with the help of volunteers and donated supplies built a 550 square foot clubhouse (now the kitchen). On May 3rd, 1951 the first meeting convened on this property.

The Acton Community Club was incorporated on February 9th, 1955, allowing it to accept title to maintain and operate the facility. At this time, the Acton Community Club became the sponsor of Acton Boy Scouts of America, Troop 145 and Cub Scouts of America, Pack 145. The arena, located on the same site, was constructed and is maintained by the Acton Rangers.

A Board of Governors was also formed to handle the business of the Club. Years later it was felt that the term "Center" was a more appropriate term since it really was the center of activities for the community and not a "Club" at all, though that is still the official legal title.
The original charter and bylaws of the Acton Community Club stipulated providing these facilities free of charge to all Acton youth groups. Other groups and private parties pay a fee for their gatherings.

Acton community members began a fundraising drive, raising money to enlarge the Community Club, which consisted only of a small building which is now the kitchen. These community members envisioned a larger building where all types of events could be held, bringing the community closer together.
