After the dedication it was time to plant all the bare slopes around the building!
Community involvement was requested for donations to purchase trees and ground cover, as well as help planting.
An official spring planting day was declared and all turned out to lend a hand – Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, Daisys, 4-H groups, Civic groups – all came to beautify our Community Center.

It was a glorious Acton day that concluded
with Larry Jones presenting Sandy Madsen
with a large decorative rock with a commemorative plaque in her honor.
Over the years, more trees and plants were added. A gardener rather than volunteer help now takes care of the grounds and trims the trees as they grow and provide much-needed shade.
