The Board thought it fitting that a dedication be held, at which time it was noted that the actual building had never been “dedicated.” They voted for a flagpole and a commemorative memorial to be constructed using the bricks saved from the 1980 Acton Hotel. The dedication took place on July 4, 1994.

Former ACC presidents and early supporters and those influential in building the Center were invited, speeches were given, refreshments served and entertainment provided by Dancin’ in Acton. This was especially fitting because Nancy Scott, original owner of the dance studio, held her first classes at the Community Center before the walls even went up – just the framing existed.
